Context
Pompes funèbres Ciceron, a funeral home based in Saint-Esprit, Martinique, needed a simple, calm and reassuring website to present its services. Families who visit it are grieving, often on a phone and sometimes in the middle of the night: the essentials (the phone number, the 24/7 opening hours, the address) had to be reachable immediately.
What I did
An elegant visual direction built around a touch of lilac, with a floating navigation bar, a full-screen hero and a bento-style services grid. I wrote and structured the content from the client's documents, including an FAQ that answers the questions families actually ask. I integrated the logo, optimized the photos, and added a sticky call bar on mobile so visitors can reach the business in one tap.
Architecture and quality
Statically generated with Nuxt 4. The interface is split into reusable components (buttons, sections, cards, gallery) on top of an SCSS design system: color, typography and breakpoint tokens, mixins, and component-scoped styles. All data (contact details, services, FAQ, images, SEO) lives in a single typed file, so the client's content can evolve without touching the components.
Accessibility
Skip link, page landmarks, a clean heading hierarchy, a keyboard-friendly mobile menu, visible focus states and alternative texts. Color contrasts are checked automatically by tests against WCAG AA thresholds. The GSAP animations are deliberately restrained, respect the reduced-motion preference, and the content stays visible even if JavaScript fails to start.
Local SEO
Title and description tags, Open Graph, canonical URL, schema.org structured data (LocalBusiness with 24/7 opening hours and GPS coordinates, FAQPage), a sitemap and robots.txt, targeting searches such as pompes funèbres Martinique or pompes funèbres Saint-Esprit.
Testing
Regression tests run with Node's built-in test runner: content preservation, consistency of SEO data and phone numbers, accessibility guardrails and color contrast. I verified their effectiveness by deliberately introducing regressions.
